NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Event officials announced the return of the popular Algiers Mardi Gras Festival for its fifth-annual Mardi Gras soiree. The 2025 annual family fun festival will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Federal City. Officials plan to hold a special press conference on Jan. 7, 2025, in Federal City to unveil the official 2025 poster and announce this year’s Grand Marshal along with additional details of the event such as entertainment, food and more.
The 2025 festival will feature an expanded parade route that will navigate through an expanded Algiers neighborhood footprint. Additionally, a friendly competition between K-8 schools in the area has been added, with the winning school with the highest level of participation receiving a school-wide pizza party donated by Pizza Hut.
The free and family-friendly festival aims to bring Mardi Gras to the historic Algiers neighborhood just across the mighty Mississippi River from downtown New Orleans.
