NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Omicron Lambda Omega Chapter will host its 12th annual Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise Family Health Expo on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at the Sarah T. Reed High School at 10 a.m.
The event will feature health screenings, including vision, blood pressure, dental, diabetes, and hearing. Shelly Bailey serves as Chairman of the event and Micaela Bowers is Co-Chairman. The event is free and will include food, entertainment, prizes, school supplies, legal consultations for expungements, and winter item giveaways. About the Omicron Lambda Omega Chapter: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Omicron Lambda Omega Chapter, was established in 1984 in New Orleans with 33 chartering members. The 300 women of the chapter are soaring as they provide service to the greater New Orleans area. Service initiatives include but are not limited to providing weekend meals to address childhood hunger, awarding scholarships to reduce barriers to education, and supporting the local community with voter registration, college fairs, estate planning, and environmental preservation efforts.
