Amy Bakay, SHRM-SCP, is a self-proclaimed “HR geek.” After a 20-year career in various Human Resources leadership roles, Bakay identified a need in the regional small-business market for tailored human resources solutions. In 2017, she founded HR NOLA, a New Orleans-based HR consulting and outsourcing firm to fill that niche and assist with retained HR services as small businesses grow.
Amy’s commitment to the HR profession led her to becoming an Adjunct Professor for the Master of Jurisprudence in Labor and Employment Law program at Tulane University Law School, where she teaches management of the employee life cycle. She is a Senior Certified Professional from the Society of Human Resources Management and holds a Bachelor of Science from Mississippi College School of Business.
Amy’s HR passion also extends to volunteer work. She serves on the Board of Directors and as President-Elect of NOLA SHRM, a local nonprofit with 500+ HR professional members. She frequently speaks on various panels for Women in Leadership and HR Compliance, and her latest honors include nomination for the 2018 Woman of the Year by New Orleans CityBusiness, designation in the 2018 Top 10 in HR Consulting from HR Tech Outlook, and being named to the Top Three Woman-Owned Businesses in New Orleans CityBusiness’s 2019 Reader Rankings.
