Anderson .Paak And A Live Concert A Day

Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals Saturday

Tomorrow night Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals will take part in the Bold Sphere Music at Champions Square series. Anderson .Paak and his band are difficult to classify. Their music takes elements of hip-hop, R&B, soul and rock and blends them in a powerfully mesmerizing way. They will be accompanied by excellent emerging Chicago rapper Noname and the astounding experimental jazz bassist and producer Thundercat. This is a stunning assembly of talent. Check out Anderson .Paak’s excellent Tiny Desk concert below.

Caroline Rose at Gasa Gasa on Thursday

Thursday night Caroline Rose will roll into Gasa Gasa accompanied by Sun Seeker. Rose’s third album—Loner—was one of the great records of last year. She has a playful sarcasm in both her lyricism and delivery that makes for wonderfully complex Indie pop moments. I got to see Rose and her band last year at Hangout Fest and they put on an outstanding live performance. You’re going to want to see this. Check out the video for “Soul No. 5” below.
