FLEUR de TEASE BURLESQUE

“Hot Mama Revue” May 10, 2009 at One Eyed Jacks!

This year instead of taking your mom out for brunch, take her out for burlesque with the Fleur de Tease’s tribute to mom’s everywhere in their Hot Mama Revue at One Eyed Jacks, 615 Toulouse Street in the French Quarter, 8PM & 10PM on Sunday, May 10. The ladies of Fleur de Tease will be saluting their own mother’s in our audience again this year, by showcasing their sweet, funny, and flirtatious Fleur de Tease style which has made them famous.  Angela Eve, creator of Eve’s Parlor Burlesque in Chicago, will be our special guest aerialist for this show.

Fleur de Tease is New Orleans’ premiere troupe of true professional burlesque dancers, including artistic director Trixie Minx, Madame Mystere, Lily Summers, Bella Blue, Natasha Fiore’, and Rory Wrey. This cast of intriguing burlesque dancers creates a new original show each time they perform.  No two shows are ever alike, and with Fleur de Tease performing once a month at One Eyed Jacks, you can expect new material and a lot of fun at every performance.  A Fleur de Tease show reflects modern style vaudeville and includes the comical style of MC Chris Lane, trickster and illusionist Magic Mike, and circus-like aerial trapeze from Sarah the Bobcat, alongside classic “bump & grind” New Orleans burlesque routines.  There’s always an array of surprises and when you attend a Fleur de Tease show, “…You never know who or what will turn up on stage!”

Tickets for the Fleur de Tease Burlesque Hot Mama Revue, Sunday, May 10, 2009, at One Eyed Jacks, 615 Toulouse St., NOLA, 504-569-8361, are $15.00 and $20.00 for reserved table seating.  Doors at OEJ open at 7:30PM with performances starting at 8PM and 10PM. Also, you can RESERVE TABLE SEATING for the shows and book Fleur de Tease to perform at your private party, event, or fundraiser by calling 504-975-1245.  For more information on the latest Fleur de Tease charity events, merchandise, and shows, please visit www.fleurdetease.com <<http://www.fleurdetease.com/>http://www.fleurdetease.com/> , www.myspace.com/fleurdetease <<http://www.myspace.com/fleurdetease>http://www.myspace.com/fleurdetease> , or contact Sheri M. Del Shores: writer, comedian, and the creator of SORDID LIVES
In New Orleans for one night only: Tuesday, May 12

Le Chat Noir, 715 St. Charles Avenue at 8pm  New Orleans, LA — Acclaimed playwright, TV and film writer/director/producer (and NOCCA visiting artist) Del Shores makes his New Orleans debut with a special performance of his new, unscripted one-man show DEL SHORES, THE STORYTELLER. Shores will perform the show for one night only, Tuesday, May 12, at 8pm at Le Chat Noir, 715 St. Charles Avenue. Shores is best known for SORDID LIVES (film, play, series) DADDY’S DYIN’ (WHO’S GOT THE WILL?) (play, film) and his controversial play SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES. In DEL SHORES, THE STORYTELLER, Shores will share the real life stories that have inspired his writing. Yes, there was a man with two wooden legs. But did his grandmother trip over them and die while having a sordid affair? Did his mother and aunt fight over a mink stole at their mother’s funeral?  And did his mother really ask, “What exactly do you do…when you’re gay?”  If so, what was the award-winning playwright’s response? (SORDID LIVES). Yes, prayers were answered and a matching vein was found in a vein bank over in Baton Rogue to replace his Uncle Humpty’s collapsed vein. But did Humpty lose the leg after all those prayers? (SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES). And what relative really shot a policeman in the “saliva gland” and shoulder? (TRAILER TRASH HOUSEWIFE). Truth and fiction are finally separated in DEL SHORES, THE STORYTELLER. Although Shores started out as an actor, he has only been on stage a few times in the past years, stepping occasionally into one of his own shows when an actor was unavailable to perform. His last time on stage was in 2006 when he went on as “Latrelle” in SORDID LIVES: IT’S A DRAG at the Zephyr in Hollywood and at the Annenberg Theater in Palm Springs. The first season of SORDID LIVES: THE SERIES premiered on MTV’s LOGO in July of 2008 and became their biggest hit to date and garnered rave reviews. Shores also wrote and produced for the TV shows NED & STACEY, DHARMA & GREG, and QUEER AS FOLK. STORYTELLER is produced by Shores’ husband, Jason Dottley, who will also introduce the show. Dottley stars as “Ty” in SORDID LIVES: THE SERIES.  The couple remains part of the 18,000 legally married same-sex couples in California. DEL SHORES, THE STORYTELLER will play one night only at Le Chat Noir, 715 St. Charles Avenue, in the heart of downtown New Orleans. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased by calling 504 581 5812 or at CabaretLeChatNoir.com
