NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Restaurant August recently announced a partnership with Applied Arts Coffee, a New Orleans-based, family-owned roastery founded by chef-turned-coffee roaster Baruch Rabasa. The companies share, beginning this fall, Applied Arts Coffee will serve as the restaurant’s sole espresso provider, offering guests a dynamic selection of responsibly sourced, small-batch roasted coffees and espressos designed to complement the restaurant’s refined dining experience.
For Rabasa, the partnership marks a special homecoming. Fresh out of culinary school, he began his career in the kitchen at Restaurant August before launching Applied Arts Coffee.
“This feels like a full-circle moment,” said Baruch Rabasa, owner of Applied Arts Coffee Roasters in a release about the partnership. “I learned so much under the August team, and now I get to return in a new way. Sharing coffee that’s crafted with the same attention to detail and respect for ingredients that I was taught there is a very meaningful experience.”
Applied Arts Coffee stands out for its chef-driven approach: beans are sourced through ethical, environmentally conscientious importers and roasted in small batches, each chosen to highlight unique flavors. At Restaurant August, guests can expect a rotating espresso selection that mirrors the seasonality and thoughtful creativity of the cuisine.
“This partnership aligns several of our core tenets – exceptional service, world-class products and unique, rotating offerings,” said Tyler Cox, assistant general manager at Restaurant August. “Applied Arts shares our commitment to craftsmanship and our belief that even the simplest everyday pleasures, like a cup of coffee, should be elevated into an extraordinary experience. It just makes sense to bring Baruch’s perspective into our dining room.”
