Arnaud’s Restaurant Celebrates National Souffle Potato Day

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Arnaud’s Restaurant is proud to partner with Foodimentary to celebrate the annual National Souffle Potato Day, Sept. 30. A favorite on Arnaud’s menu, the souffle potato receives the recognition it deserves, serving as the grand finale to National Potato Month, commemorated annually in September.

The special day will be marked with a spirited Friday lunch on September 29, the Pommes Souffle Soirée, with reservations available between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a spudtacular prix fixe menu. Reservations are required and costs $55 per person (excluding tax and gratuity).

Souffle potatoes were created by French Chef Jean-Louis-Francois Collinet completely by accident, sometime in the 1830s. And today, one man – Norris Sam Jr. – is responsible for making all of Arnaud’s souffle potatoes. The job is one he has taken great pride and care in mastering for nearly 20 years.
