The patron and preview party for the 26th annual “Art in Bloom” fundraiser took place at the New Orleans Museum of Art on Wednesday, March 14. Gwathmey Gomila and Jennifer Charpentier chaired the event.
The patron party began at 6 p.m. at the museum’s Kaleidoscope Lounge. Guests sipped champagne; ate appetizers provided by Galatorie’s; listened to music by Anïas St. John and her trio; bid on silent auction items; and partook in a scotch tasting provided by Glenfiddich.
The preview party began at 7 p.m. and featured food by such local restaurants as Café Du Monde, Mr. B’s Bistro, Dooky Chase, Maximos, Sweet Life Bakery and Zea Rotisserie and Grill.
Auction items included a variety of artwork: everything from mixed media to acrylic painting on wood to ceramic creations.
The four-day “Art in Bloom” fundraising event showcased over 75 floral designers, garden clubs and artists. The event will benefit The New Orleans Museum of Art educational programs and exhibitions as well as various Garden Study Club projects.
