It is no secret that everything in New Orleans is motivated by food – in some way, shape or form. That fact is especially true when it comes to planning a New Orleans wedding. Next to the entertainment and whether or not there is an open bar, the food that is served is a phenomenally important part of the reception, and arguably the wedding as a whole.
Beginning next week, June 26, the Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group will demonstrate culinary creations at Café NOMA’s “The Artful Palate” Summer Cooking Series at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
The seven “Artful Palate” demonstrations are a marvelous opportunity for couples to sample the work of chefs from around the city, while simultaneously picking out their wedding caterer (some of chefs or restaurants don’t cater weddings, but it’s still a great way to get food ideas). Every week is dedicated to a different chef from a different restaurant with attendees sampling their creations for free (on a first come, first serve basis). The demonstration is in conjunction with the launch of NOMA’s exhibition A Louisiana Parlor: Antebellum Taste And Context.
Couples can even use this opportunity to go on a fun date night. Go to a museum, attend an exhibit, grab some drinks after and you’ve turned wedding planning into an enjoyable evening.
The series begins June 26 and will continue every Friday at 6 p.m. until Sept. 18.
