The third annual “Just Say YAYA” fundraiser took place on Thursday, December 8 at Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World in New Orleans due to the generosity of Barry Kern. Event co-chairs Ann and Melissa Fuselier, event co-founder Bev Church, executive director Baty Landis, corporate chairwomen Kay Kerrigan and Janet Napoli contributed to another successful Ya-Ya event which successfully exceeded the YAYA organization’s fundraising goal and provided invaluable experience for the young artists of the organization.
Artwork created by youths at YAYA’s new creative glass studio in Mid-City lined the walls of Mardi Gras World for patrons to purchase and admire. Guests were greeted at the door with specially designed pins produced by the young organization artists. The sounds of Allen Toussaint, Charmaine Neville and headliner Honey Island Swamp supplied the artists and supporters with the evening’s entertainment.
The Green Fork, an organic catering company, Galvez Restaurant and Popeyes graciously contributed to the event by providing a variety of local menu items from which to choose.
YAYA dedicates itself to assisting New Orleans youth in becoming successful, artistic adults through education and entrepreneurship.
