Captain Mike Gowland has been a New Orleans firefighter for almost 20 years. In 2008, The New Orleans Firefighters Foundation began producing a yearly calendar, "Fire Fighters Look Hot."  Mike is the cover model for the 2012 firefighter calendar. The Fire Department will use the money from calendar sales to purchase thermal imaging equipment. Thermal imagers are valuable tools that firefighters use to identify hot spots or detect people inside burning buildings.
