Audubon Nature Institute Launches Nature at Night Series and Brings Back Virtual Outreach Programs

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Audubon Nature Institute’s Education department will soon offer a new Nature at Night series and relaunch its virtual outreach programs for children.

Nature at Night will feature “kid-only” events for children ages 6-11 years old where they can enjoy an up-close animal encounter, pizza party, special event-themed art or science project, and flashlight tour of the Zoo. This series will be offered on Friday and Saturday nights beginning on October 8, 2021.

Registration for Nature at Night is now open on Audubon’s website. For more information visit audubonnatureinstitute.org/nature-at-night.

“We are thrilled to offer kids an exciting new opportunity to explore nature this Fall,” said Audubon Nature Institute’s Director of Education Llewellyn Everage. “Nature at Night events are going to be blast! We will be meeting special animal friends, touring the Zoo after-dark, and learning all about the natural world and what we can do to protect it.”

Audubon is also bringing back its highly successful virtual outreach programs for the 2021-2022 school year. These programs allow students to discover amazing animals with Audubon educators as they explore nature and science together. Each class is designed to last up to 45 minutes and will combine science topics aligned with Louisiana state science standards and live animal presentations.

Students can interact in real time with educators and live animals through streaming video conferencing as they discover new things about the world around them.
