NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The sea lions at Audubon Zoo are super excited about the LSU Tigers’ big win in the College World Series.
This afternoon they celebrated with special ice treats that have a unique LSU flair. Sea lions Roux and Zoey took turns reliving the final score of the Tigers’ championship game in Omaha, showing off their National Championship sign, and enjoying their own specially made non-alcoholic “Jello-O” shots.
Their care team made the “shots” with plain gelatin without alcohol or sugar of course. Ice was frozen into the shape of cups to hold the gelatin for the sea lions to enjoy. No word on whether their icy treats count for the final tally of shots during the College World Series.
The ice treats help keep the sea lions cool and provides them enrichment in their environment at the same time.
