With a belief that music has the power to transform lives, The Roots of Music has been empowering the youth of New Orleans through music, mentorship, and academic achievement for 17 years. Five days a week, twelve months a year, the organization serves youth ages 5-19 from low-income households in providing music history, theory, instrumental instruction, ensemble performance instruction, hot meals, and round trip transportation. The Roots of Music has given over 2,500 students the tools to create positive, productive futures.
