Helping to support veterans throughout New Orleans, Bastion is a nonprofit organization that serves America’s first intentional community for veterans and families. Believing that the greatest resource that veterans have is each other, Bastion works to build meaningful relationships within a community of members, allowing them a place to thrive and find connection in their post-military lives. Through support from veterans and locals alike, Bastion has grown far beyond its Gentilly community, with programs like its Wellness Intensive and Headway brain injury program expanding to serve veterans from all across the Greater New Orleans area.
With the opening of their new Veterans Wellness Center, Bastion will serve even more of the 15,000+ veterans who call New Orleans home. This building will act as a resource hub for veterans, providing them with cost-free programs, services, and access to social workers and occupational therapists.
The Veterans Wellness Center creates space for veterans to connect, socialize, and develop supportive relationships, providing opportunities for recovery and growth together.
HOW TO HELP
At Bastion, no veteran heals alone. Bastion needs volunteers to help power our new Veterans Wellness Center who can offer 4 to 8 hours of their time per week to support our veterans, with training provided by Bastion. To learn more or support Bastion with a donation, visit joinbastion.org/support.
