Regular skin checks for cancer can be a real lifesaver.  Sometimes abnormal spots on the skin need to be checked and eventually removed for the patient’s well-being. Mohs surgery is a precise surgical technique used to safely remove skin cells that have become cancerous. This procedure is usually done on an outpatient basis using a local anesthetic and allows surgeons to verify that all cancer cells have been removed at the time of surgery, increasing the chance of a cure and reducing the need for additional treatments or additional surgery.
