NEW ORLEANS – Ayu Bakehouse on Frenchmen Street has announced a new fall menu as well as the opening of Thanksgiving pre-orders.
The bakery shares that the new menu has seasonal food and beverages that include the following:
- Pumpkin Cheesecake Danish – Pumpkin cheesecake, salted caramel and pecan streusel in a laminated shell, with a secret ingredient (local Japanese sweet potatoes)
- Farmer’s Market Banh Mi – Braised tofu, black garlic aioli and pickled local veggies on a homemade banh mi pistolette (vegan)
- Apple Bourbon Loaf Cake – A decadent loaf cake with tart apples, toasted pecan streusel and a generous helping of Jack Daniels
- Shadowy Figure – Black sesame horchata with black sesame caramel
- Monster Mash – Iced coconut matcha with ube mash
For the Thanksgiving holiday, the menu is full of limited-edition flavors and mallows:
- Chai Pie – Creamy chai-spiced mousse, cardamom ganache and a black pepper chocolate glaze on top of a gingersnap crust
- Apple Pie – Refreshingly tart apples encased in a flaky croissant crust and topped with a flourless Toasted Oat Cookie crumble
- Caramel Nut Pie – Traditional pecan pie meets a bowl of bar nuts, punched up with a healthy helping of bourbon
- Coquito Mallow – Based on the classic Puerto Rican Christmas drink of rum, coconut milk, and spices.
- Apple Cider Mallow – A blend of sweet and tart, this tangy apple marshmallow melts into a deliciously creamy hot cider.
Pre-orders will be available starting Nov. 1.
Something extra: the Ayu team shared they are collaborating with French Quarter shop C’mere on clay ornaments modeled after their fan-favorite pandan-infused kaya buns. They’ll be available for purchase at the bakehouse soon, so stay tuned!
