Band of Horses and Shane Smith+The Saints Headline Hogs for the Cause 2024

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – After a recent announcement of over $10 million in giving, Hogs for the Cause announced its music lineup for the 16th annual fundraising event on April 5 – 6, 2024. The headliners for the 2024 event at the UNO Lakefront Arena festival grounds include Seattle-born indie rock band Band of Horses, fresh off the heels of their resurgent album Things are Great, and Shane Smith & the Saints, an American roots band influenced by country, folk, and roadhouse rock & roll with their newest album, Norther, dropping March 1, 2024. Other notable bands include The Record Company, joining us following the first leg of their Roll With It Tour 2024, and Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, bringing an organic rock band aesthetic with plenty of roadhouse twang. Nearly two dozen artists will appear at this year’s festival, playing alongside more than 95 barbecue teams serving mouth-watering BBQ and vying for the title of Grand Champion. Two-day tickets are now available online at HogsFest.org. If available, single-day tickets will go on sale closer to the event.

“We are so excited to be included on the performance calendars of some of the best in American music today,” said Becker Hall, co-founder and CEO of Hogs for the Cause. “This year, many of our bands are on tour or have newly dropped albums, and as usual, Hogs will be bringing you the next wave of breakout country stars in Tanner Usrey, Drayton Farley, and Cole Chaney. Guitar phenom Grace Bowers, only 17 years old, is quickly gathering notice around the country, sitting in with artists Tyler Childers and Leon Bridges after making her widespread debut this year at Newport Folk Fest.”

“Hitting $10 million in giving this year was not something we imagined 16 years ago,” said Rene Louapre, co-founder and COO of Hogs. “The fundraising our incredible teams do throughout the year is just as important as our big event in the spring. Without them, we would not be able to reach as many families as we do—this year, we also gave out our 1800th direct grant, assisting families battling this terrible disease.”

The 2024 event sponsors include Children’s Hospital New Orleans LCMC Health, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Blue Plate Mayonnaise, Gulf Coast Bank, Miller High Life, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey, Big Green Egg, Phelps and Irpino Avin Hawkins.
