Baptist Community Ministries Launches Grant Opportunity in Honor of Hurricane Katrina

NEW ORLEANS – Baptist Community Ministries (BCM) is asking the public for nominations to recognize organizations at the heart of recovery to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

In honor of the anniversary, BCM will award a total of $400,000 in general operational grants to those organizations they think are making a transformative impact in the 9th Ward and St. Bernard Parish, which are two areas that were impacted the most by the storm.

BCM says that this is the community’s moment to make a difference and help “highlight the efforts of those working tirelessly to rebuild, restore and revitalize our communities.”

Eligibility criteria:

• Open to 501(c)(3) organizations focused on the 9th Ward or St. Bernard Parish.

• Government agencies and academic institutions are eligible.

• Organizations must align with BCM values: Faithfulness, Compassion, Respect, Sustainability, and Transparency.
