Bar Tab: National Pimm’s Cup Day, Junebug Music Club, Tales of the Cocktail & More

Most locals don’t need an excuse to visit the storied Napoleon House, but if you are looking for a reason to stop by, celebrating National Pimm’s Cup Day on July 1 is a good one. While the Napoleon House did not create the Pimm’s Cup, it has been pouring it for their customers since Prohibition ended. The revelry begins at 11 a.m. with Champagne sabering and a special guest appearance of Napoleon himself. Pimm’s recipe cards will be available throughout the day, as well as a limited edition “Pimm’s Cup Day” cup. The first 50 guests will also receive an enamel Pimm’s pin. A pop-up Pimm’s Bar, 4 to 6 p.m., in the iconic courtyard, features a “buy-one-get-one” cups. 500 Chartres St., 504-524-9752, napoleonhouse.com.

Junebug Music Club

Warehouse District hotspot Junebug has launched the Junebug Music Club, rooted in a deep appreciation of vinyl records. Each month, the club’s calendar spotlights what’s spinning behind the bar, highlights local artists and record stores, and keeps members plugged into special events. Check out their “Disco Brunch” on Sundays, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., where diners are encouraged to “Bust out the bell bottoms” and hit the dancefloor. On “Wax Wednesdays” guests can listen to vinyl spinning on the patio and enjoy an all-night happy hour, with $5 beers like St. Bernardus’ Wit and Great Raft’s Reasonably Corrupt, and $7 wines, including a fizzy Lini 910 Labrusca lambrusco. 744 Camp St, 504-326-1599, junebugnola.com.

Traiteur Amaro, a Louisiana-made botanical amaro produced by Mamou Spirits Company, won top honors at the American Distilling Institute 2026 International Spirits Competition, including Double Gold, Best of Class and Best of Category. Traiteur Amaro takes its name from the Louisiana French word traiteur, a traditional healer in south Louisiana, and its creation was inspired by our region’s respect for plant knowledge and folk traditions. Traiteur has flavors of spiced-tea, sassafras, chicory and mint, offset by a gentian bitterness. It can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or in cocktails.
