The Back to the Beach Festival, held in Kenner June 3-5, was a weekend filled with entertainment and activities. The festival included events such as a 1/2-mile and 2-mile walk/run, a car show, fishing rodeo and Bikes at the Beach.

Musical performances by The Mixed Nuts, The Revivalists and Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. and the Zydeco Twisters, among others, played a key role in making the event a success. All proceeds from the festival benefited the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation, which is dedicated to restoring and preserving the habitats, water quality and coast of the Lake Pontchartrain Basin.

The Back to the Beach Patron Party and Silent Auction was held on June 25 in Metairie. Guests enjoyed cuisine by the New Orleans Marriott Metairie at Lakeway while enjoying music by Bobby Cure and the Summertime Blues.

Founding Chairs include Leigh Dieffenbach, Ann and Bob Hutchins, Jane and Travis McKenzie and Jennie Weatherall.
