With the holidays fast approaching, we thought we would share our secret spots around the city to find the perfect gifts for everyone on your list. From food and drink at Martin’s Wine Cellar to creative pieces at the Frenchman Art Market, we’ve got you covered for this holiday season!
I can always find something at Little Miss Muffin for everyone – whether it’s a cute tea towel or platter, a candle or fancy bar of soap. It’s my go-to spot to grab a gift that’s always a hit. – Reine Dugas, Editor | Louisiana Life/Acadiana Profile
If you’re in Mid-City, the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Louisiana Children’s Museum (both located in City Park) gift shops also have a wide range of items for almost everyone on your list. Stop by Café NOMA for a coffee, cocktail and light bites when you are done. – Ashley McLellan, Editor | New Orleans Magazine/New Orleans Homes
My “go to” spot for gifts is UAL. I’m always shocked by how many things I can find at amazing prices. They restock almost daily and I go often in the weeks leading up to Christmas and have found everything from amazing ornaments and jewelry to designer accessories and even home decor. I also love Perch, Sotre, Hazelnut and local museum shops for other unique finds. – Andy Myer, Editor | St. Charles Avenue
I can find just about anything for anyone between Fleurty Girl and Phina! Fleurty Girl is definitely for your cheeky friend who loves a laugh and to have some fun. I love the Saint candles, the clever shirts and anything for your home office or kitchen. Phina is more for your posh friend that loves a spa and wine night. I love hitting up their face mask and under eye gel section for quick gifts for my favorite friends! (There are a few that will admit that last one is my go-to!) – Kelly Massicot, Digital Editor
As someone obsessed with stationery and gift wrap, I have to stop at Papier Plume to make my gifts stand out. And because dads can be the hardest to shop for, I go to the gift shop at the World War II Museum where they have history buff items and even Rosie the Riveter merch for my sister. – Veronika Lee Claghorn, Biz New Orleans Associate News Editor
For local stores I’d say Le Jouet is a favorite for toys and Zuka Baby for stuff for the littlest ones. Love Garden District Books and NOLA Boards has a wide array of cool stuff. I’m a big fan of giving experiences so this year I’m taking my two besties and we’re going to make some art at Shard Shop and then lunch on Magazine. – Kim Singletary, Editor | Biz New Orleans
