All of us love and watch WYES, so here's your chance to support our public television station by attending “Red Carpet Farewell to ‘Downton Abbey’” on March 3 at the home of Lisa and Tripp Ludwig! Thanks so much to Co-Chairs Louellen Berger, Patricia Brinson and Mary Wyatt Hines, along with Hostess Lisa Ludwig and Latter & Blum representative Bob Merrick for gracing our cover. Beginning with a Patron Party at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Gala at 8, tickets range from $100-$500. Please call 486-5511 for tickets.

As the series finale approaches, WYES invites loyal fans of “Downton Abbey” to celebrate the most watched drama in PBS history, and you are encouraged to wear period attire.

There will also be “An Afternoon with WYES Downton Abbey Tea and Wine, Too!” on January 14; look to our Registry of Charitable Events for more information.

This issue includes our Registry of Charitable Events for January through April 2016! We are the clearinghouse for all nonprofit events in the city, so check the calendar so you don't have your event on the same night as another big fundraiser. And if you don’t see your event here, we print updated calendars each month, so be sure to fill out our calendar form online as soon as possible: MyNewOrleans.com/CharitableEvent.

In addition, we bring you a feature on Health, Beauty and Wellness and a fabulous article on Assisted Living!

I can't believe that Mardi Gras is so early this year! Check out What's Hot for Mardi Gras to find fabulous earrings you can wear with any gown to the perfect hostess gift for all those parties – we have all of the great ideas for you!

Be safe for Mardi Gras and have a great time!
