NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Krewe of Orpheus will roll March 3, 2025 at 6 p.m. with a procession of 43 floats and over 1,500 members under the theme As Above So Below. The parade will culminate at the New Orleans Convention Center for the Orpheuscapade, a dynamic after parade party open to the public.
Headlining the black-tie post-parade gala will be the Grammy award winning Brothers Osborne. The five-time CMA Vocal Duo of the Year and three-time ACM Duo of the Year have tallied multiple RIAA Gold and Platinum certifications, while surpassing more than 2.5 billion global streams. Orpheuscapade guests can look forward to hearing original hits such as “It Ain’t My Fault,” “Stay a Little Longer” and “I’m Not for Everyone” from real-life brothers, T.J. and John Osborne, and their full band.
This eight-hour live musical spectacular, which includes a front-row seat to the full parade, is open to the public and also features performances by Groove Merchants, the Mixed Nuts and NOLA Super Group.
Bianca Del Rio will serve as Monarch for the 2025 parade. Del Rio, aka Roy Haylock, gained international fame winning season six of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and going on to six successful solo world tours in over 30 countries selling out prestigious venues such as Wembley Arena in London and Carnegie Hall in New York City. Her signature look and biting wit have established her as a prominent figure in the world of drag, entertainment, and pop-culture. “Roy has been a part of the Orpheus family for a very long time and to welcome him as Bianca Del Rio to reign as our Orpheus Monarch is indeed a thrill,” said Captain Sonny Borey. “Seeing him rise from the stages of New Orleans to international celebrity makes me, and all of our local theatre community, so proud!”
Keeping with the super krewe’s newest tradition, custom tambourines will be a highlight of the krewe’s 2025 throws. Each tambourine will be hand-decorated, allowing members to express their creativity and leaving parade goers with a one-of-a-kind, collectable carnival souvenir.
