Bike to work all week with BikeEasy

Dan Favre is Executive Director for BikeEasy. Dan and BikeEasy are transforming New Orleans into a bicycle-friendly city. Originally called the Metro Bicycle Coalition, the non-profit organization began in 2003 to encourage biking in New Orleans. One way BikeEasy supports bikers is through education. The organization offers safety tips for riders, and information about the safest areas to bike. Over the last few years, New Orleans has added over 100 miles of bike lanes, changing the traffic on local roads and streets. In this podcast, Dan talks about the responsibilities of both bike riders and automobile drivers. One of BikeEasy’s big events is Bike to Work Week. The 2016 event is scheduled for April 11 – 19. Bikers will meet between 7 and 7:30 a.m. at six locations around New Orleans and converge at Lafayette Square. For information on how to get involved and participate, go to http://bikeeasy.org
