NEW ORLEANS (press release) – March at BK House concludes with a Food & Wine Pairing at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, featuring five tastings, including the special introduction of Blandy’s commemorative AMERICA 250 Madeira. John Linklater, South Central regional manager for Premium Ports, will present a selection of wines, complemented with curated culinary accompaniments provided by Chef Glen Hogh, formerly of Vega Tapas Cafe. Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, distributor of Premium Ports portfolio selections, including Grahams and Dow’s, will orchestrate the event. Doors open at 5:30 for this very special event.
Two hundred fifty years after our Founding Fathers celebrated the completion of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 with a glass of Madeira wine, BK House will honor our country’s birthday by sharing in its history and enjoying the exotic wines of Portugal and the Island of Madeira.

Easter Sunday, there’s a special treat in store with t marie and bayou juju in concert from 4:30-7:30 p.m. following the Gay Easter Parade. The Easter Parade Party will take place in the beautiful Parterre Garden at 1113 Chartres St. on Sunday, April 5, and will include food and drink for purchase.

French Quarter Festival offers fun for locals and visitors alike with Flow into the Fest Yoga from 9-10 am, on Saturday, April 18. YEAH! YOGA and BK House invite participants to start the FQF day grounded, energized and ready to move with an all-level experience that blends breath, mobility and feel-good movement that gets everyone loose, lit up, and festival ready. Limited reservations and attendees must bring their own mats.

Also Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, BK’s Parterre Garden will host FREE Patio Planters Garden Concerts from 1-4 pm. The exciting partnership between Patio Planters and BK House will connect the business and residential community with festival activities in Jackson Square, the French Market, New Orleans Jazz Museum, and expanded Riverfront. Abita beverages will be available for purchase during afternoon performances by fabulous New Orleans musicians.

Dining by Design returns to the Historic BK House & Gardens on Sunday, May 17, for an elegant evening of creative tablescapes, exceptional cuisine, libations, music and delightful conversation from 5:30-8:30 pm. The annual Salon will be a highlight of BK’s Bicentennial celebration and will showcase imaginative tablescapes and florals created by leading designers and tastemakers.
