Shannon Atwater was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She moved to Louisiana in 2005 to attend Loyola University New Orleans where she graduated with a degree in Visual Arts. She fell in love with the city and her husband, they planted their roots and never left. She is the author and illustrator of “Alligators Don’t Like Flowers” and “Goodnight Pothole” as well as the illustrator of “Rainbow Rodney.” When Shannon’s not drawing, painting, and writing she’s chasing her three kids and dressing up as a larger than life flower with Krewe des Fleurs.

Laura Carroll was born and raised in New Orleans. She graduated from LSU in construction management and business. She then attended law school at LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, and now works as a full-time real estate attorney. Laura attributes her love for New Orleans cuisine to her mom, who taught her that you can’t make a good roux until you’ve burned a dozen. But her hot glue gun skills, along with her love for fishing and home-made Mardi Gras costumes, comes from her dad. While Laura has a special place in her heart for color-coded spreadsheets and a well-themed party, her heart is at home with her husband and three small children.

Author Adam Dennis has worked as an attorney, dental office manager, touring musician, sous-chef, and radio promoter. He enjoys playing guitar, cycling, and traveling. Dennis resides with his family in Uptown New Orleans.

Toya Boudy specializes in putting a unique twist on New Orleans style dishes and cooks with a Southern flare. As a native New Orleanian, she started honing her culinary skills at a young age and used her talent to kick start a successful career. As a culinary authority on Cajun and Creole cuisine, she enjoys bringing creativity to the kitchen and teaching people how to take a piece of New Orleans back home with them.

In her role she is also an ambassador for Louisiana, where she works with organizations to elevate and strengthen diversity within the hospitality, tourism, and culinary industry.

Alexis Richoux is a Southeast Louisiana native with a love of literature and all things dark and unsettling. She finds her joy in exploring the complexities of human emotion against a humid Louisiana backdrop. Happy Endings aren’t in her wheelhouse. When she’s not writing or reading, she can be found fanning the fires of feminine rage and baking cookies to beat the heat.

Mark Rosebohm is a talented watercolor sketcher based in Louisiana with a rich background in graphic design and illustration spanning over 25 years. His works reflect a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of various design software. He is strongly drawn to captivating the unique characteristics of mundane houses in the neighborhood and present them in an illustrative and nostalgic way.
