NEW ORLEANS (press release) – NOMA’s summer-long exhibition, Bodies of Knowledge, will incorporate photography, dance, music, film, books, and numerous date-specific, artist-led gallery activations as a means of conveying how language, in its many forms, both archives and asserts global cultural identities. For the June 28 opening, Friday Nights at NOMA will feature a commissioned dance performance with artistic director Edward Spots and choreographer Donna Crump in collaboration with youth dancers from Dancing Grounds, along with gallery talks among three of the exhibition’s artists, and the first in a series of musical collaborations.
