Bonnie Boyd believes persuasion, respect, a sense of humor and hard work are the keys to success in life. In 1992, Boyd founded her company, BBC Destination Management, to market and deliver the true New Orleans experience to visitors.
“Approaching people in the right way has been fundamental to our success,” she says “and we have earned a stellar reputation as well as the respect of clients, vendors and colleagues.” Boyd takes this same approach to nonprofit fundraising and community work. After Katrina, she founded “give-back voluntourism,” and alongside her husband, John, she’s also involved with the Southern Food & Beverage Museum’s Culinary & Hospitality Library, the Historic New Orleans Collection and the New Orleans Convention Bureau.
