NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Garden District Book Shop invites you to meet New York Times bestselling author William Kent Kreuger on Sept. 27. Krueger will be at the shop for a special evening recognizing his latest novel “The River We Remember,” an unflinching look at the wounds left by the wars we fight abroad and at home, a moving exploration of the ways in which we seek to heal and a testament to the enduring power of the stories we tell about the places we call home.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a welcome reception featuring light refreshments for guests to enjoy. Shortly after, Kreuger will sit down to regale guests with stories from his storied literary career and share insights into the world of The River We Remember.
Entry to the event requires a ticket purchased via Eventbrite. Tickets for the evening are $30 and include a copy of “The River We Remember.”
On Memorial Day, as the people of Jewel, Minnesota gather to remember and honor the sacrifice of so many sons in the wars of the past, the half-clothed body of wealthy landowner Jimmy Quinn is found floating in the Alabaster River, dead from a shotgun blast.
