The sixth annual “Magic in the Moonlight” brought a sold-out crowd of more than 344 to the Botanical Garden at City Park for an al-fresco fete in the new Helis Foundation Enrique Alferez Sculpture Garden at the entrance to the Botanical Garden and Storyland. David Kerstein represented The Helis Foundation as the Guest of Honor. Honored Guest Dr. Tlaloc Alferez also attended.
Dessa Giffin and Edmund Redd served as Chairpersons.
Chef Susan Spicer created the outstanding passed hors d'oeuvres and three-course dinner menu.
Sarah Young and committee decorated each table with vases of lavender and pale peach roses, white hydrangeas, ranunculus, tulips and pink freesia alongside white votives and ferns from the shade garden to amplify the garden theme.
The live auction, led by Bryan Batt, included an Enrique Alferez reproduction of a bas-relief and 13 silent auction prizes and packages. Vacations to Vail, Napa and North Carolina were hot items.
