NEW ORLEANS (press release) – KICK, a new boutique kickboxing studio, is celebrating the grand opening of its brand-new studio at 4525 Freret Street. Situated just a few doors down from Bar Frances in the Freret neighborhood, KICK brings the area a unique concept that focuses on kickboxing but also integrates fitness elements from HIIT, barre, Pilates and yoga styles for a full-body workout that utilizes cutting-edge technology and techniques.
The studio will kick off the festivities with a ribbon cutting on Friday, March 8 at 12 p.m. in partnership with the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce. The following day, Saturday, March 9, the Grand Opening Celebration will be from 2 to 4 p.m., and will feature two mini class demos at 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. (available on a first come, first serve basis). Guests will enjoy a fresh juice tasting from Raw Republic as well as a fitness apparel pop-up shop. Attendees will also have the chance to register to win FREE KICK classes and giveaways from participating brands.

Local proprietor, Melissa Burbank, scouted the location and directed the build-out of the space containing a designed studio and retail area complete with a selfie-ready wall. Remaining interior details throughout the studio are modern and sleek, inviting clients into an atmosphere of inspiration and motivation.
With a studio room that accommodates up to 15 clients per class, KICK encourages women to discover what they are capable of, transforming clients into their strongest and fittest selves. Pick from three different 50-minute workouts tailored to curated to meet your fitness level:
- KICKintro is an introductory kickboxing class focused on teaching you the 6 basic boxing punches, push and roundhouse kicks, as well as knees and elbows. This class is dedicated to simply showing you good form, letting you practice it, and being personally guided in the form by our instructors. It is highly recommended as the first class for anyone coming into the studio for the first time or starting one of our programs. Take the class again and again to fine tune your form!
- KICKfit is our signature class with a kick butt kickboxing-themed warm up before rolling into the body of the workout: high-intensity interval training. We'll bring your heart rate up with heart pumping, kickboxing combos and then use pulsing isometrics to bring your heart rate down while you build long, lean muscles. Incorporating a HIIT style of fitness is what keeps your metabolism burning long after you finish your workout. After crushing it for 30 minutes, we move on to our mat section of the workout with some Pilates and yoga-inspired core work along with stretching to relax and increase flexibility, and then we end with 3 minutes of stillness and breath work.
- KICKflow is for those that want to get a killer kickboxing workout in while also working on becoming more balanced, centered, and flexible. The 50-minute class will include 25 minutes of nonstop kickboxing followed by 25 minutes of yoga to wind down. The best of both worlds!
