New Orleans is buzzing as we move toward into another summer in the city. A local hotel recently completed an interior renovation and a few boutiques in and around the city are hosting exciting new trunk shows.

First, the Pelham Hotel in New Orleans recently debuted a complete interior renovation. The modest 65-room hotel saw updates to the lobby, guest rooms, guest corridors and a few other areas throughout the property.

“This renovation will provide guests with an elevated yet distinctly New Orleans experience,” said General Manager Allison Barnette in a press release about the renovations. “Inspired by the property’s origins, we sought to preserve the hotel’s unique character while transforming spaces with the modern-day traveler in mind. From the moment they arrive, guests will be immersed in the rich history of the city while receiving the world-class hospitality that The Pelham is known for.”

The original circa-1800s building was led in design by New York-based Suomi Design Works and influenced by the building’s “European influence while drawing inspiration from the theatrical flair of city’s vibrant Golden Age of Theater and classic New Orleans’ Manor homes.”

With wood and leather accents, it strikes us as the hotel a modern Don Draper (of AMC’s “Mad Men”) would frequent.
