Bridal Buzz: Trunk Shows, Hotel Discounts and a New Wedding Registry

We’re in month 853 of the coronavirus pandemic, but as everyone learns to live safely within mandates and restrictions, events and opportunities in New Orleans’ wedding scene abound to keep brides and grooms busy.

First, there are various trunk shows cropping up in New Orleans and beyond.

Town & Country Bridal on St. Charles Avenue is hosting a Toni Federici trunk show from Aug. 8 – Aug. 29. Toni Federici is known for handmade and custom wedding veils. Special incentives will be applied and interested brides must have an appointment, which can be made on the boutique’s website.

I Do Bridal Boutique is hosting two shows this month at the Baton Rouge and Covington locations. Starting today, the Baton Rouge location is hosting a Rivini trunk show, with a designer representative in store, Aug. 7-8. Though slightly last minute, the boutique posted about the show yesterday on social media, so there is a chance you can still book an appointment. Call the store at 225-361-0377.

The I Do Bridal Boutique Covington location is hosting a Ti Adora by Allison Webb trunk show Aug. 28-29. The store is by appointment only, and promises romantic gowns at an “incredible price point.” To request a private appointment for the show, visit idobridalcouture.com/covington.

Local hotel management company HRI Lodging announced a travel deals across its New Orleans hotels. The Eliza Jane Hotel in the CBD has its “Warm Welcome Awaits” package, which includes 15 percent off of the best available rate, plus a free breakfast until Sept. 8 for stays that include check-in dates before Dec. 20. Aloft New Orleans Downton has 15 percent off best available rates with free valet parking on dates booked through the end of 2020. If you book the “Stay Local and Save” deal at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter hotel you will receive 20 percent off the best available rate, discounted valet parking and a couple of complementary pastries and coffee. Finally, the Homewood Suites French Quarter has 15 percent off the best available rate and free parking for those who book the “Gulf State Neighbor Rate.”

Though these are only a few of New Orleans’ myriad hotels, these discounts could be the perfect weekend staycation for the couple who had to push their honeymoon back — or completely cancel plans — or for those who need a little away time in the Quarter with a pool and a discount.

Finally, TheKnot.com announced this week the launch of The Knot Registry Store. According to the press release about the launch, the store is meant to be a first-of-its kind wedding registry shopping experience within The Knot Registry Platform. The goal is to simplify the registry experience for couples, families and all those involved in the gift-buying process.

Stay tuned next week to full details about the new registry site.
