Bridal Fashion Week: Part One

The Fall 2018 Bridal Fashion Week wrapped shows in New York City on Sunday, but the buzz around this year’s fashion is still in high gear.

Typically, fashion week couture and ready-to-wear shows are a time when attendees are introduced to the avant garde or wow moments from a designer’s new collection. But does the same go for the bridal industry? Yes and no.

Some designers took their looks to the next level, while many played it safe with clean lines and simple silhouettes.

Two of our favorites were Naeem Khan, bridal industry all-star, and Viktor & Rolf, which is newer to the scene, but has yet to disappoint.

This year, the Naeem Khan brought a cohesive, thorough collection with drama and a touch of Spanish flair, while still giving the everyday bride beautiful, realistic options.

Viktor & Rolf first leapt on our radar early last year. Headquartered in the Netherlands, this design hub always brings an interesting design aesthetic to its collections. This group had a well-defined concept. It was simple with the touch of dramatic, typically seen in the skirt. The artful gowns would look right at home displayed in a museum among dramatic paintings, sculptures and other works of art.
