More than 750 people came “Home for the Holidays” at this year’s patron party and concert fundraiser, benefiting the Daniel Price Memorial Fund for Aspiring Artists. Held at the House of Blues on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, the Home for the Holidays annual fête is held in honor and memory of NOCCA alumnus Daniel Price, and each year the fund provides scholarships for those who excel in visual arts and music at the much-lauded school. At the patron party, 135 guests enjoyed food and drink from House of Blues, plus music from Nova Nola and Theresa Andersson. A silent auction included a giclée of Daniel Price’s work “Kermit Ruffins and BBQ Swingers,” plus Saints jerseys signed by Scott Fujita and Drew Brees, and an original painting by 2009 Daniel Price Memorial Fund recipient Ariel Jackson.

The party continued at the big event, where 625 danced to the sounds of Kermit Ruffins, Rebirth Brass Band, Amanda Shaw, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue and the Eric Lindell Trio with special guests Stanton Moore and Thomas Johnson, among many others. Noteworthy attendees included Kathy and Steve Price, the Masakowski family, Sally Perry, Elaine and Bill Schwartz and Rep. Cedric Richmond.

The evening netted $25,000 for the fund.
