“Brunch Month” at Southern Food & Beverage Museum

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – In the 1870’s, Madame Begue invented the meal “brunch” for New Orleans’ working people who finished their shifts after traditional breakfast hours, but before lunch hours began. Since then, brunch has become a cultural sensation, bringing people together from around the world to enjoy a festive weekend meal.

In honor of this grand brunch tradition, the Southern Food & Beverage Museum (SoFAB) will invite guests to join in the celebration October 2021 with Brunch Month – a weekly series of brunch pop-ups hosted by some of New Orleans’ renowned Chefs and personalities. Priced at $60 per person, the three-course brunch includes tax and gratuity (excluding alcohol). Lineup follows:

Saturday, 10/2 –   Drag Brunch hosted by Poppy Tooker, featuring dishes by Chef Jason Goodenough (Carrolton Market)

Saturday, 10/16 – Filipino Kamyan Brunch, featuring Cristina Quackenbush (Milkfish)

Saturday, 10/23 – Barrow’s Beyond Catfish, featuring the team from Barrow’s Catfish

Saturday, 10/30 – Halloween Boehme Brunch, featuring Colleen Allerton and Camille Staub of Luncheon

Guests can enjoy a la carte classic brunch cocktails and punches from Eve Marie Haydel, SoFAB Board Member and Bar Director for Dooky Chase’s Restaurant. Kitchen partner is Tabasco® and Bar Sponsor is Wickles Pickles.

*Since October 2021 is a busy month in New Orleans, filled with festivals and events, guests are encouraged to make reservations far in advance, as seating is very limited.
