NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Cochon Butcher has announced a beer tap takeover with Burial Beer Co. on Saturday, March 16, beginning at 11 a.m. In addition to six draft beers, Burial will showcase its Visuals natural wine portfolio with three wine pours. This event is a non-ticketed, no-reservations event. Bar seats are first come, first served. Beers and wine will be available to order from the counter or the bar, but supplies are limited. Since 2016, Burial Beer Co. has revisited its roots in New Orleans through a collaborative beer with Chief Shaka Zulu in support of LEAF Global Arts, a non-profit organization that connects culture and creates community through the promotion of music and art. This year, proceeds from the Threads Modern Pilsner will benefit LEAF.
Every year, Burial has sent a limited amount of its beer to the New Orleans market. This year, Butcher is one of the few places selected to pour them. “We are excited to be joined once again by Jess and Doug Reiser, the founders of Burial, for what promises to be a wild ride on Saturday, March 16,” said Zackary Shelton, Cochon Butcher’s general manager. “Alongside the six draft beers, we will be offering wine from their Visuals natural wine portfolio. This will be the first time Visuals wines will be poured at Butcher, and we’re thrilled to put these side by side with the indelible beers from Burial.”
Event-only Burial beers include Threads Modern Pilsner, Rationality Shall Run Its Course IPA, Portal Beyond Existence Imperial Adjuncted Stout. Old Black Hen Barrel-Aged Hybrid Sour Ale, Early Märzen Lager, and All We Are Is Slow Decay DIPA. Visuals event-only featured wines include Slip Into Solitude Sauvignon Blanc White, Sink Into Seclusion Sauvignon Blanc Orange, and Become The Memory Syrah.
