Some New Orleanians can’t get enough of Mardi Gras. So less than two months after Mardi Gras day, Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World played host on April 14 to Bridge House and ABC26/CW38’s “Cochon Cotillion XI.”
The evening was a Mardi Gras parody with more than 900 revelers who sported their tackiest black-tie attire to celebrate with the royal court of the Krewe of Pork & Beads, which had as its monarchs King Larry Delia and Queen Erin Beech. The food was delightful—more than 40 local restaurants contributed delicacies for the evening. Bruce Katz of ABC 26/CW 38 served as the emcee and the venue was lavishly decorated with table decorations by Flowers by LaFleur and balloons from RSVP Decorating. ELS provided the music for the evening.
A silent auction featured a variety of items, including an autographed New Orleans Saints football, a gas grill from Home Depot, a hat from Yvonne LaFleur, wine glasses, airline tickets and original artwork.
The event was colorful and fun—and also served a great purpose because it raised funds for the Bridge House, which provides substance abuse treatment.
