More than 200 guests showed up to the “On Broadway” benefit on October 14 at the Lambeth House Fall Gala.

Guests kicked off the evening by sipping on champagne before moving onto hors d’oeuvres of asparagus wrapped in ham, spinach and feta canapes and smoked salmon mousse. For dinner, there were stations set up in the patio, offering a range of culinary treats, including filet mignon and baked ham with sweet potatoes and baby vegetables, and various seafood dishes. Republic Beverage provided liquor, wine and champagne. Entertainment this year included performances by the Dark Water Jazz Band on the patio and Philip Melancon on the grand piano in the parlor.

Decorations included large Broadway theater posters, created by local artist Mary Looney.

Co-chairs of the benefit, which raised more than $60,000, were Margo Phelps II and Ann Lee Sarpy. Funds raised from the “On Broadway” fête will benefit the programs of the Lambeth House, a premiere retirement community that emphasizes quality of life for its residents. It is the area’s only continuing care retirement community with LifeCare, designed to give independent living residents and their families peace of mind as it provides for assisted living and nursing care if needed.
