Carnival at The Chloe

If you happen to be wandering down St. Charles Avenue over the next few weeks you’ll want to stop by The Chloe. The breezy, perennially cool hotel, bar and restaurant will host a lineup of Carnival diversions fit for both the young and young at heart. Among the whimsical activities are the accessible, yet artsy events like a headpiece making workshop with artist La Adorna, Nail Art with M.A.D nails and Tinsel Hair placement with Patti Michiko. If your Carnival fashion itch has not yet been scratched, wander over to the Mardi Gras Market pop-up shop (open through Feb. 14). This will not simply feature your average bedazzled and blinky single use assortment. The pop up will include unique art and wearable pieces by local designers like Julianne Merino,  Marlance , Cool Yor Fannies and Dyer’s Dyes. The purchase of anything therein will secure you “cool” bragging rights in perpetuity. After your shopping spree, grab a frozen king cake daquiri at the bar outside and admire the collaborative art installations by artist Basqo Bim and floral stylists The Judy Garlands. Every Carnival experience at The Chloe aims to serve as a reminder of the artistry that Mardi Gras truly represents.

PS-If you weren’t invited to a party along the route this year but want to secure seating and a cocktail, The Chloe also has a few limited seating options for purchase available. You can’t be too careful!
