Carnivale In Fall

Upon entering the home of Robert and Elizabeth Emmett for the “CADA Carnivale” Patron Party, guests were greeted by a ringmaster, courtesy of Mack Presents. Carnivale-themed décor decorated the home, including a candy bar. During the evening guests were treated to a pop-up tango performance.

Chef Edgar Caro of Barú prepared a watermelon, cucumber and crab meat gazpacho and grilled skirt steak skewers with chimichurri. Republic National Beverages provided liquor.

The party featured a live auction conducted by John Calhoun; the top item was a private wine dinner for six prepared by Chris Lusk of the Caribbean Room, which includes wine and an after-dinner bottle of 1985 Fonseca Vintage Port, at a private Uptown Magazine Street penthouse.

At the end of the night, guests were serenaded by the barbershop quartet, the Ragamuffins.

The following evening, CADA held its “Carnivale” at City Park’s Carousel Gardens. There, families and supporters gathered to enjoy a night of unlimited rides, face painting and cotton candy. Approximately 120 attended the Patron Party, and more than 1,000 attended the Carnivale. Katie Roth served as Committee Chair.
