NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Garden District Book Shop announced that Caroline Chambers will be visiting the shop on Nov. 23 for a festive day celebrating her New York Times bestselling cookbook “What to Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking.”Â
With three little boys less than two years apart and a packed schedule as an online creator, Caroline Chambers often doesn’t feel like cooking. Inspired by her popular Substack newsletter of the same name, this book is brimming with efficient recipes that take the guesswork out of dinner—in fact, each one is a complete meal: protein, veg, starch, done! The recipes are organized by the amount of time they take to cook, so whether you have 15 minutes to throw together something or a little bit more time on your hands, dinnertime is totally doable.Â
On top of that, Chambers gives you more ways to choose, so you can search by protein (Chicken thighs waiting in the fridge? Make White Chicken Chili. Nothing but beans in the pantry? Cannellini Caprese with Burrata is it!) or mood (Tomato Farrotto is perfect for a cozy craving, and Crunchy Honey Harissa Fish Tacos are an excellent way to show off). Most importantly, these recipes include Chambers’s extensive swaps, riffs, tips, shortcuts, and more to be sure they work best for you, helping you save money, improvise, and even learn a thing or two.
First up, Chambers will be at The Garden District Book Shop for a meet & greet from 1:30-3 p.m. Guests will be able to chat with Chambers and take a photo with her. Tickets are available on Eventbrite and include a signed copy of “What to Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking.” Â
Afterwards, Chambers will host an exclusive evening at Commander’s Palace at 6 p.m. The night will begin with a cocktail hour, followed by a seated three-course dinner. Chambers will be mingling with guests and pop over to everyone’s tables during dinner. Guests will receive two signed copies of her latest book, “What to Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking” with the option of personalization while Chambers pops by each table to say hello. Tickets for the dinner can also be found on Eventbrite. Individual seats and table tickets are both available.Â
Chambers will be on Liz William’s Tip of the Tongue podcast in advance of the events and fans are invited to send in any questions they may have for Caroline to askcarogdbs@gmail.com.
