The Anti-Defamation League of New Orleans bestowed its highest honor to The Gambit co-owners Margo and Clancy DuBos, as well as 16 fearless Holocaust survivors, at an elegant gala dinner held Sunday, December 14, 2008. The A.I. Botnick Torch of Liberty Award is the League’s way of recognizing the special contributions of outstanding community leaders. Held at the Westin New Orleans at Canal Place, the event emphasized its mission of combating anti-Semitism and other forms of prejudice and bigotry. Margo and Clancy DuBos were chosen for their tireless commitment to political and social reform through their journalism and publication. The survivors were chosen for their bravery in facing down the Holocaust and rebuilding their lives here
in New Orleans.
