The Good Trouble Network is holding a Booze and Bake Sale benefitting the ACLU. Each $40 bake sale box contains 18 assorted goodies from top chefs and restaurants across New Orleans, including the Black Roux Culinary Collective, Bywater Bakery, Milkfish, Piece of Meat, Toups’ Meatery, Val’s and more. They had me at “tahini dark chocolate with sea salt cookies.” Also available are four 16-ounce specialty cocktails to-go, $30 each, designed to bring plenty of good cheer to the party.

Ayu Bakehouse is also offering some fresh takes on holiday baked good classics. Get festive and creative with their shotgun gingerbread house kit or stunning “Bayoule Log.” Great gift options include both sweet and savory mini baked goods boxes, cookies, macaroons and more. They even have handmade dog biscuits, so your canine friends won’t feel left out. Pre-orders are now available on their website.

Hanukkah latkes and more on the menu

Marjie’s Grill is celebrating the season with three special events. From Dec. 19 through 24, the menu features “Eight Nights of Latkes” with “unique latke” options and a sundown candle lighting. On Dec. 24, the restaurant will be serving whole BBQ ducks with scallion pancakes for a one-of-a-kind holiday feast (reservations for ducks required in advance.) Finally, on New Year’s Eve, the restaurant transforms with a holiday burlesque show plus absinthe and classic French cuisine on the menu.
