You’ve seen them the Quarter or maybe outside of your office – food trucks are becoming a lunchtime must-have in New Orleans. The growing popularity of the convenient trucks has made them a staple at festivals and parties all around the city. Most recently, food trucks have become a popular request among couples for reception catering options. This made-to-order option brings a fun and funky vibe to your party. An even better option would be to supply these food truck options as a late-night snack for your guests who wish to continue the party way after closing time.
We saw it as our duty to find and bring you, faithful readers, a few of the tastiest options for food trucks at your wedding festivities.
La Cocinita
A veteran in the wedding and reception arena, La Cocinita adds the perfect spice to your affair.
- Choose from two different options for your event. A regular food truck service at $10 per person with each guest receiving one entrée or an unlimited food truck service where guests can order as many times as they wish during a two-hour time frame.
- Prices for the unlimited service are based off of the “vessel” selections: Tacos and “The Bowl” is $20 per person; Tacos, Arepas and “The Bowl” is $24 per person or Tacos, “The Bowl,” Arepas and Patacones for $28 per person.
- An Hors d’Oeuvres menu is available as well.

Crepes a la Cart
With Crepes a la Cart, guests can mix and match toppings to make their own masterpieces or choose from various menu options. Each crepe is made on site and “spun” on an authentic crepe griddles. This option is a tasty treat for after dinner or part of the main meal.
- Available for weddings and private parties.
- Food truck and crepe station service pricing depends on number of guests, length of service, location (they can be either inside or outside) and menu selections.
- It usually averages out to about $6-8 per crepe.
- Menu items include options such as ham and cheese crepes, bacon and cheese, tomato, basil and mozzarella, bananas and Nutella, Speculoos (cookie butter) and more.
Theo’s Pizza Truck
Your favorite neighborhood Theo’s is also mobile. Give guests a parting gift to fuel up after the reception or munch on freshly-made pizza while dancing the night away.
- Available for weddings and private parties.
- Costs depend on number of people in attendance (between 50 and 150 people is approximately $10 a person with a $500 minimum) and provide two hours of food service.
- Included are freshly made pizza and salads, plates, utensils, napkins and trash receptacles.
- Theo’s can also provide soft drinks, bottled water, tea, lemonade, cups and ice.
In a city that could never go without food, food trucks are now feeding the masses. The previously mentioned are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to trendy food truck eateries in New Orleans. Others on our radar include
