NEW ORLEANS (press release) – On Thursday, November 3, Hotel Peter & Paul will host its Dia de los Muertos Dance Party and Fundraiser in the church, featuring music by Juan Tigre, Los Gatos del Sur, and Los Guiros along with festive Mezcal cocktails by Bacchanal. Come and dance this special day away in style and glamour, with all proceeds benefiting the ISLA organization, an immigration services and legal advocacy organization that defends the rights of immigrant communities and advocates for just and humane immigration policy.
In traditional Dia de Los Muertos fashion, guests are invited to bring their own contributions (flowers, food, memorabilia) to the altar for the ceremony led by Rizzo Macedonia López, a local curandero and bruja of Mexican descent who specializes in altar building and ritual space holding within the New Orleans community. Entry is free with $10 – $20 donations welcome, and all proceeds will go to the ISLA organization.
