The city was echoing with the clinks of wine glasses and delightful cries of “Cheers!” on Memorial Day weekend. That’s because the 16th annual New Orleans Wine & Food Experience served more than 15, 000 glasses from 1,000 different types of wine. Among the weekend events were a series of Vintner dinners at dozens of New Orleans’ premier restaurants, plus a Royal Street Stroll, which offered an evening of rare antiques, fine art, live jazz and wine at various Royal Street shops and galleries.
A nonprofit organization, NOWFE also offered seminars, tastings and a “Bubbles and Brunch.” NOWFE donated proceeds to local organizations involved in food, hospitality and tourism industries, among others.
