Many celebrities take the opportunity to host events, take a vacation or film a movie in New Orleans whenever possible. It is no surprise when you hear Sandra Bullock has a house in the Garden District or Britney Spear’s little sister had her reception at the Audubon Tea Room.
It is not often, however, that a celebrity wedding professional makes his or her way to the Big Easy. Celebrity event planner and bridal gown designer David Tutera is meeting New Orleans brides and wedding professionals tomorrow, Oct. 12, at the Crystal Palace Ballroom (1725 Gretna St.) in Harvey for the David Tutera Rocks NOLA event.
Tutera opened his own event business at the age of 19. Since then, he has skyrocketed into fame as the go-to wedding planner and event stylist in the country. He took his talents to TV with the shows “My Fair Wedding with David Tutera” and “David Tutera's CELEBrations” on the WE channel. Tutera branched out even more when he started designing wedding gowns for Mon Cheri Bridal. He now has his own collection under the brand.
