Depending on the couple, wedding favors can potentially be an after thought. Unlike the the dress, location or entertainment, favors aren’t as notable, and often fall to the bottom of the to-do list. What if you can make your favors work for you in another way? Knock out two items in one fell swoop.
Recently, we stumbled upon an idea of combining your wedding favors with your centerpieces. It could potentially lower the cost of each part, or even add an element of surprise and a conversation piece.
We enjoy this concept for the creativity alone, though it hasn’t hit a full trend following in the wedding world.
It’s important to remember a few things when combine both elements of centerpiece and favor. The couple must make sure to alert guests to the fact that they can take a part of the centerpiece, whether it a custom sign upon entrance or something on each of the tables.
They also must pick favors that make sense together, as well as a favor in combination with another flower or item arrangement. This ensures that when guests begin to leave the table will not start to look bare or different from the other tables.
With that in mind, here are a few of our favorite ideas for centerpiece favors.
- Potted plant or a succulent: This is easier to go with because it’s already flower based and makes sense in the middle of a table.
- Specialty candies: Match the paper with the flowers
- Books
- Potted flowers clustered together
- Fruit
- Candles
- Local Honey
- Cluster of vases with couple’s pick of flower
- Oregano or thyme plants or spice jars
- Olive oil
- Coffee
- Wooden coasters
